Saima — Sunday schools, brick kilns, and Friday school
Saima teaches Sunday school in Pakistan. Her Sundays are not spent in one building: she travels to villages and cities, sharing God's Word with children and with anyone who will gather. Among her regular stops are the brick kilns, where whole families — children among them — labor in conditions she does not soften when she describes them: she calls them slave families, and she brings them the Gospel, and food when she can.
Her care also reaches orphan children in her community — meals shared, prayers prayed over them, Bible verses written out on handmade cards and learned by heart.
This month she is opening a center of their own in a rented home, for children in a neighborhood that had no Sunday school at all. Sundays belong to the road, so the center meets on Fridays — a friend suggested the name, Friday school, and she took it on the spot. The first Friday school meets this Friday, October 23. She started it by faith, without the chairs, bags, notebooks, pencils, and Bible story books the children could use: “But we started this by faith. And God will provide everything for this.”
The ministry of Saima and her family is the first beneficiary of Chosen Fast International. She is first because we know her heart is true to the God who loves us both, and because she has given her life to this work rather than saving it for herself. Rob has already helped her personally, as the Lord prompted him; now Chosen Fast's first giving goes to her work, and we mean to protect her and promote her at the same time.
A word about what is not on this page. We have left off her full name, her town, and anything that could lead a stranger to her door — and that is on purpose. Where she lives, Christians are often met with hostility, and we will not make her easier to find. If this page seems a little vague about her, please understand: the vagueness is love, and it is protection. It is not distance.
